Disability Services
Reasonable accommodations are provided to students with documented disabilities. Accommodations may involve the development and use of a technique not common to the general population to allow a qualified student to participate in courses with equal opportunity. DeVry makes the final determination of reasonable accommodation.
Documented disability must be in accordance with Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973 and/or the American with Disabilities Act of 1990. Students who require special accommodations should complete a Special Accommodation Request Form and submit appropriate medical and/or psychological documentation to the Office of Student Services. Documentation of the disability must be made by a licensed or certified professional.
Some common accommodations include:
- Alternate testing locations from distractions
- Extended time on exams
- Information broken down into sequential form
- Use of tape recorders for lectures
- Provision of a note taker
- Limited individual tutoring
- Taped text
- Computer access
